Choose a decoration method by matching the artwork and garment to the look and use you want. Embroidery, screen printing, and direct-to-film (DTF) each produce a different finish, and the best option depends on the project details.

Embroidery

Embroidery uses thread stitched into the garment. It can suit logos and compact designs on products such as caps, polos, and outerwear. Very small detail or color gradients may need to be simplified for stitching.

Screen printing

Screen printing applies ink through prepared screens. It is commonly considered for graphic designs and larger printed areas on apparel. The artwork's colors, placements, garment material, and quantity are useful details when assessing this method.

Direct-to-film (DTF)

DTF transfers a printed design to a garment using a film transfer process. It can be considered for artwork with multiple colors or detail, subject to the fabric and intended application. The print feel and care requirements should be reviewed for the selected garment.

Compare the options

Ask how each method will represent your specific artwork, how it will feel on the garment, and how the selected material affects the result. Also consider where the design will be placed and how the apparel will be worn or washed.

What should I send?

Share the design file, product or garment reference, preferred placement, intended use, and quantity. If you are unsure about the method, say so; the artwork and product can be reviewed together before a choice is made.
