A tech pack is a document that organizes the specifications for a garment so a product idea can be reviewed and communicated clearly. Depending on the design, it can include measurements, materials, construction notes, colors, labels, artwork, and placement details.

What can a tech pack include?

The contents vary by product, but a useful apparel pack may include:

  • Flat sketches or visual references for each garment view.
  • Measurement points and size information.
  • Fabric, trims, construction, and finishing details.
  • Color references and branding or label placement.
  • Artwork files, print or embroidery dimensions, and positions.

Why are specifications useful?

Specifications give the people reviewing a product a shared reference. They can make it easier to identify missing decisions, compare samples with the brief, and record adjustments. They do not replace sample review or confirmation of production details.

Do I need one before talking to Outpace?

No. An early idea, reference images, and a list of the details you already know are a useful place to begin. Outpace can help identify what information is still needed for the product to be evaluated.

What should I prepare?

Share the garment's purpose, intended audience, reference images, desired features, artwork, and any requirements for material, fit, labels, or packaging. Mark which details are fixed and which are still open.
